Cher is offering fans a very exclusive look at her life with a two-part memoir.
The 78-year-old icon announced plans to drop Cher: The Memoir, which will tell her life story from her youth with dreams of becoming a star to the reality of her life in the spotlight.
She announced the project on Wednesday (July 24) and shared details about when the first part of the book would arrive.

“After more than seventy years of fighting to live her life on her own terms, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate detail, in a two-part memoir,” a teaser for the book promises.
Here’s a synopsis: ‘With her trademark honesty and humor, Cher: The Memoir traces how this diamond in the rough succeeded with no plan and little confidence to become the trailblazing superstar the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century. Cher: The Memoir, Part One follows her extraordinary beginnings through childhood to meeting and marrying Sonny Bono—and reveals the highly complicated relationship that made them world-famous, but eventually drove them apart.”
As for why the book was broken into two parts, it was pointed out that Cher‘s life is “too immense for only one book.”
