Patti Yasutake has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
The actress was best known for playing Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in the Star Trek franchise and she most recently appeared in the Emmy-winning Netflix series Beef.
Patti starred in the limited series as George’s mother Fumi Nakai and had a significant arc throughout the season. New cast members are being sought for the second season of the anthology series.
Her manager and friend Kyle Fritz confirmed her death in a statement.

“Patti was my first client when I began over thirty years ago,” Fritz told Deadline. “We enjoyed every day we got to work together, and I will miss her spirit talent and tenacity but most of all her friendship.”
